LSMU Faculty of Medicine, Lithuanian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Ear, Nose and Throat Minimally Invasive Surgery Association are organising a International Scientific Practical Conference "Multidisciplinary Approaches in Head and Neck Oncology and Laryngology: Progress and Innovations". Conference Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of ENT Department.

Date: 30-31 May 2025, Friday-Saturday
Venue: Radisson Hotel Kaunas Conference Center, Donelaicio st. 27, Kaunas, Lithuania

The Conference is intended for otorhinolaryngologists, anaesthesiologists-reanimatologists, chemotherapy oncologists, maxillofacial surgeons, oral surgeon, pathologists, plastic surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, medical physicist, family physicians, internal medicine physicians, speech therapist, nurses.

The official language of the meeting is English and Lithuanian. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

 

Prof. Eugene N. Myers is a distinguished international head and neck oncology leader, recognized for his extensive research, authorship of foundational otolaryngology texts, and leadership in global medical collaboration. Serving as Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh for over three decades and continuing his work as a Distinguished Professor Emeritus and Chair, he played and still plays a transformative role in the field. His endless contributions to the specialty have positively impacted the quality of patient care on nearly every continent. A dedicated philanthropist, he has established numerous funding programs to support international ENT specialists in training opportunities in the United States. He will present an expert analysis of current strategies in managing parotid gland cancer, focusing on evolving treatment paradigms.

Prof. Jeffrey N. Myers, Chief of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston—one of the foremost cancer institutions in the U.S.—is a leading authority in tongue and oropharyngeal cancer. His extensive contributions to oncologic research especially in the role of p53 mutation in oral cancer and surgical innovation have shaped modern treatment approaches. He will share his expertise on cutting-edge developments in diagnosing and managing these malignancies, offering perspectives on future directions in care.

Prof. Tadeus Nawka, a prominent expert in phonosurgery in Germany, has been instrumental in developing and refining surgical techniques for voice disorders. His pioneering work has enhanced treatment approaches, improving patient outcomes with complex vocal conditions. He will provide insights into recent advancements in phonological procedures and emerging therapeutic strategies.

Prof. Philipp P. Caffier, a senior physician at Charité University of Medicine in Berlin, is a leading specialist in phoniatrics and the performing arts, focusing on musicians' medicine. His expertise in voice diagnostics has contributed to significant advancements in assessment and treatment methodologies. He will present the latest innovations in the field, highlighting state-of-the-art technologies and their clinical applications.

Prof. Jérôme R. Lechien, Professor of General Surgery at the University of Mons, Belgium, is a respected clinician and researcher in laryngology. His contributions to the understanding and management of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease have helped shape contemporary treatment protocols. His session will comprehensively review the latest research, highlighting novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions.

Prof. Pim Schreuder, a head and neck surgeon at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Cancer Institute in the Netherlands, is an expert in oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer, mainly focusing on reconstructive surgery. As a key Dutch Bone Tumor Committee member and an active researcher, he has played a significant role in advancing surgical oncology. His presentation will highlight innovative head and neck cancer surgical techniques, emphasizing reconstruction and optimizing functional outcomes.

You are kindly invited to submit Abstract for Poster Presentation at the International Scientific Practical Conference "Multidisciplinary Approaches in Head and Neck Oncology and Laryngology: Progress and Innovations".

All Abstracts will be Reviewed. Accepted Abstracts will be selected for Online Poster Presentation and published in the Conference Online Abstract Book with ISBN code.
